This plastic surgery is indicated for those who have important skin excess, and desire to improve the shape of the arms.
The Surgery
A relatively limited portion of skin is resected and fat is removed from the underside of the upper arm. The procedure leaves a hidden scar and eliminates sagging, improving both the line and shape of the area. If only excess fat is present, a liposuction is performed leaving no visible scars can be performed. In moderate cases, a combination of limited skin resection and liposuction is utilized.
Length of Procedure
2 hours.
Anesthesia used
Neuroleptoanesthesia (deep sedation) or general, plus local anesthesia. If liposuction is performed, a tumescent solution is also used.
Hospitalization
This plastic surgery requires a short stay of less than 6 hours.
Post-operative Care
- Antibiotics
- No sunbathing for 3 to 4 weeks post-op
- Sports and other straining activities can be resumed one month following surgery
Post-operative Treatment
Sutures are removed 7 to 10 days post-op. An elastic garment is worn for the first 2 to 3 weeks after plastic surgery.
