Minimally Invasive Laser Facelift ®
What are the advantages of Minimally Invasive Facelift?
Dr Bukret has developed his own facelift method according to the requirement of his patients: naturalness, youthful looking, minimal scars, and fast recovery; are some of the benefits of this new facelift. The aim that minimally invasive facelift surgery pursues is a true facial rejuvenation effect more than a facelift.
The main advantages are:
The main concept in this facelift is repositioning the tissues instead of pulling them up; by this method, the minimally facelift procedure puts the tissue back in place restoring the patient’s beauty.
NO visible scars
Only two half-inch long incisions in the scalp are necessary to treat the forehead and cheeks. A short incision in the back of the ear allows to treat the neck.
Short recovery time
The use of ultrasound guided diode laser permits a gentle dissection without sharp cutting, thus minimize bleeding and bruising, shortening the recovery time.
One of the more important advantages of this face and neck lift is the adaptability to the patient’s requirement, since it’s possible to treat the sign of ageing in different areas of the face, and address different concerns of the patient.
The Minimally invasive Laser Facelift combines the best of endoscopic and laser technologies to restore in a natural way the youthful facial features through minimally incisions.
Dr Bukret presented his innovative work entitled “Minimally Invasive Midface Lift with suspension sutures” in the “Madrid I Conference” second edition in 2011, in Madrid, Spain.
That important conference gathers the top specialists in facial aesthetic and reconstructive surgery worldwide. See more information at http://www.madridiconference.com/eng-ponentes.html
Forehead Lift and Brow lift
In the forehead area only 2 to 5 half inch incisions are necessary to treat the upper third of the face (forehead lift and temporal lift) or to perform a brow lift; these minimal incisions are hidden in the scalp near to the forehead permitting to treat young patients, men, high forehead, and even some bald patients.
The activity of the muscles that show expressions like anger, worry, a tired or sad look are precisely treated to subtle modify the expression without leaving the obvious sequela of a conventional facelift, which is changing the facial features due to the resection of muscles and pulling the skin up.
This conservative approach permits treating the signs of ageing (frontal ptosis, dropped brows, forehead wrinkles, and crow’s feet) respecting the anatomical structures and unique features of the patients’ face.
In the middle face area the cheeks are dropped with the ageing, showing deep lines like nasolabial folds, tear trough, malar pocket and wrinkles. The fullness in the cheekbones area is lost because the cheeks (technically called malar fat pat) slide down.
An endoscopic mini invasive facelift allows treating the tissues, repositioning the cheeks and restoring youthfulness in the mid face and the volume over the malar bones.
What’s the difference between a thread lift and a minimally invasive facelift?
All kind of thread lift is losing popularity since the long term results are disappointing, beside collateral effects like visible or palpable threads and asymmetries.
Minimally invasive facelift has good long term results because it is technically different; the main difference in question is that in the minimally invasive facelift the superficial tissues of the areas to be treated are raised and repositioned using sutures to properly affix the tissues in the desired position; this creates a healing process called fibrosis in the undermined area of the face and consequently stable results.
Lower Facelift and Neck Lift
These same concepts are used by Dr Bukret to perform lower facelift and neck lifts.
The approach is by making an incision around the ears, adequate to the anatomy of women and men; the incisions follow the natural creases of the skin to achieve the less visible and shorter possible scars.
The dissection of the tissues are limited only to necessary areas to be corrected avoiding unnecessary trauma to the tissues; and because of this the bruises and inflammation are minimized, as well as the possibility of any complication commonly seen in a conventional facelift and deep layer facelift like hematoma, seroma, lost of sensibility and motor nerve lesions, facial asymmetries.
The results of this innovative method are: minimal scars, short period of recovery after surgery, and fundamentally a rejuvenation effect with natural results.
How long is the recovery time after Mini invasive facelift?
It depends on the extension of the facelift with some individual variations; for a full facelift and neck lift, three to four weeks is an average term to do social activities; for a minimally invasive upper and middle facelift, two weeks is an average term for recovery and to progressively return to normal activities.
How long does this facelift take?
For a Forehead lift, temporal lift (upper facelift) and cheek lift (mid facelift): 2 hours
For a Mini invasive full facelift and Neck lift: 4 to 6 hours
What kind of anesthesia is used for mini invasive facelift?
Dr. Bukret generally uses deep sedation, technically known as neuroleptoanesthesia; this is always used in conjunction with a local anesthetic for a comfortable recovery without pain.
How long should I stay in the hospital?
For a Mini invasive forehead and mid facelift: less than 6 hours.
For a Mini invasive full facelift and Neck lift: less than 24 hours.
Which are the post-operative care measures?
- Bed resting is required for 48 hours after surgery
- Physical activity is restricted for the first 12 days following facelift
- This general recommendations also apply for facelift pre and post op care
Sutures are removed 5 to 9 days post-op.
Is it possible to do other facial surgery at the same time?
