A Mediterranean diet ensures the necessary nutrients for good healing. Total calories should be normal to maintain your weight, and checked frequently.
Proteins are important because they help heal wounds and remove fluid from tissues. Proteins can be of animal or vegetable origin.
It will add vitamin C that will help prevent unsightly scars from a lack of this vitamin. You will also continue to take an iron supplement for a month until the normal number of red blood cells is restored.
You should drink plenty of fluids, and reduce sodium intake to reduce swelling.
Physical activity
Physical activity should be progressive and moderate. You will begin to mobilize from the day of surgery. The day after surgery, you will start with short walks until you reach normal physical activity in the next 6 weeks. The progression of activities will depend on the type of cosmetic surgery. Rest refers to limiting the mobility of the operated area, for example, not stretching your arms up after breast augmentation surgery.
After 4 or 5 days, you can start walking on a treadmill or stationary bike. Contact sports will begin after a month and a half, according to the evolution.
Lymphatic drainages
Manual lymphatic drainage is a great complement to speed up recovery. The optimal thing is to have up to 10 drainage sessions done by a kinesiologist, and also combine it with self-care. Self-care consists of getting massages daily 3 times a day for 15 to 20 minutes. You can also place cold cloths in the operated area to reduce inflammation in the area, never place ice directly on the operated areas, especially in insensitive areas because it can cause cold burns.
Treatments with ultrasound, electrodes, or radiofrequency are not recommended to avoid inflammation or possible burns.
